The world's most interesting $1 wagers. A buck says maybe.

Editorial Policy

Dollar Bets is a daily editorial board, not a sportsbook, not a tout sheet, and not an algorithm pretending to be a person. Every page on this site reflects human editorial judgment. Here's how that works.

how we pick markets

Dollar Bets looks for markets with one or more of the following traits: a memorable payout from a $1 stake, a funny or absurd premise, a compelling underdog, a weird cultural or political angle, a market that feels like a group-chat argument, a black swan outcome people would remember, or a price that makes the imagination do something stupid.

We do not select markets because we think they are guaranteed to win. In fact, many of the best Dollar Bets are interesting precisely because they are unlikely.

Our payout labels are editorial shorthand, not betting advice: Respectable = modest upside. Alive = meaningful upside. Heater = now we're cooking. Filthy = very unlikely, very funny. Generational = ridiculous payout, reality may object.

our editorial goal

Find markets that are interesting, funny, culturally relevant, weird, high-upside, or emotionally tempting — then frame them honestly. We do not call picks 'locks.' We do not promise outcomes. We do not encourage oversized stakes. We do not present longshots as income strategies.

Every Dollar Bets writeup should explain both why the market is interesting and why the market is probably unlikely.

how we use AI tools

Dollar Bets uses software and AI tools to help monitor markets, organize research, draft summaries, and format betting-slip cards. Every published page is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor. Our market selections and quips reflect editorial judgment, not automated betting advice. We use AI the way a newsroom uses wire services — as inputs to a human editorial process, not as a replacement for it.

what we do not do

  • We do not give betting, financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
  • We do not claim any bet is likely to win. Longshots are longshots for a reason.
  • We do not fabricate odds, search data, or market statistics.
  • We do not use language like 'guaranteed,' 'lock,' 'risk-free,' or 'can't lose.'
  • We do not pretend to have expertise we do not have.
  • We do not publish content designed to manipulate search rankings without providing genuine value.
  • We do not operate sportsbooks, casinos, exchanges, or prediction markets.

affiliate links

Dollar Bets may contain affiliate links. If you click through and take action on a third-party platform, we may earn a commission. This does not affect which markets we feature or how we describe them. Our full affiliate disclosure is here.
